Origin and meaning of Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a natural healing system coming from India approximately 5.000 years ago. Sanskrit is the language of the word Ayurveda, which etymologically is composed of two words “Ayuh” and “Veda”, where “Ayuh” means life and “Veda” means knowledge. Therefore Ayurveda can be translated as The knowledge of life.
There are four ancient scriptures coming from India called Vedas, written in Sanskrit. They hold incredible sacred knowledge from thousands and thousands of years ago. These four Vedas are called Rigveda, Yagurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda. Atharvaveda is the one that gives life to Ayurveda, most of it knowledge comes from this ancient book.
